It's been a crazy month at the PB office, from debuting our S/S '13 Flats Collection, redesigning our online shop, throwing a launch party, and planning a photo shoot, to introducing our new manufacturing promise, participating in our first crowdfunding campaign, and getting married (we'll tell you about our co-founder Justine's made to measure wedding dress later!). We wouldn't have been able to do it all without our first-ever intern, Brittany, helping us pull through.
An ex-hair stylist and current communications student at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton, Brittany reached out to our co-founder, Kendall, at the end of May to pick her brain. We were so taken with Brittany's disarming personality and bright initiative, we were delighted to offer her a month-long internship with us.
As Friday marked her last day with us, we're sharing with you a little profile on Brittany's background and her experience at the Poppy Barley office.

JOB TITLE: (First ever) Poppy Barley Intern
How did you get into the beauty industry? I completed the cosmetology program at Eveline Charles Academy after high school and have been working in the salon for the last six years. I have always been interested in the beauty industry, as my mum is a hairstylist, so it's always been something I loved.
Why did you decide to go back to school? Originally I wanted to become more involved in the marketing and brand development of a beauty product line. Now that I am in my program, I want to explore and branch outside of the salon world.
What made you want to intern at Poppy Barley? I wanted to be a part of an innovative team that could offer the experience of the communications field while combining my interest in fashion.
