On Saturday, Dec 6, the Poppy Barley Future Fund is donating $50 per order, up to $10,000, to a Canadian Charity removing barriers to keep girls in sport.*
We’re donating up to $10,000 — and one winner gets to decide which charity supporting girls in the sport receives it.**
$50 from each limited-edition Beanie will be donated to the Girl Gap.
The decline in girls’ confidence can be linked to a handful of challenges, one being a lack of engagement in hobbies and sports.
Girls who play sports have higher levels of confidence and self-esteem and lower levels of depression. This carries into adulthood, where they become strong and resilient leaders.
Perceptions of cost, access, low confidence, lack of feeling welcome, and safety concerns are more prevalently reported barriers for girls of lower-income households.
When girls stay in sports, they gain the confidence, resilience, and leadership skills that shape the rest of their lives.
This year, we’re committing $10,000 to help keep girls
in sport — and one lucky winner will choose which of our approved Canadian charities receives the donation.
