The Rediscovery Collection: Style Deep Dive

Our new Rediscovery Collection is designed for rekindling our friendships with hugs, returning to our favourite local spots, and traveling to destinations far afield. It’s about embracing the parts of the pandemic that made us better–and sharing it with the world. Our Senior Designer, Kalie, explores the two new footwear styles launching with this collection.

Within the collection are two new styles that I’m extremely excited to launch – The Smart Loafer and The Festival Boot. Both are perfect for everyday wear while lending an elevated feel for returning to work, events and all the things we’re excited to dress up for. 

The Smart Loafer

First up is The Smart Loafer, a re-invented icon we’re introducing in three colourways. The shoe has a sturdy, welted sole and classic, clean loafer detailing. Because the sole is thicker than our other styles on this last, it has a more substantial feel and will transition easily into the fall season as the weather cools. 

Kalie’s Styling note: I imagine this elevated style being worn with a variety of things – paired with your most loved shift or sweater dress to ground the look, or with drapey trousers and a silk blouse. Try the loafer out with your favourite t-shirt and jeans, blazer and white crew socks to make the look extra cool and on trend. 

The Festival Boot

The other style I'm equally excited about is The Festival Boot. This fun-seeking style has a comfy 1.5” heel to make it an extremely walkable style – perfect for climbing the hill at our next folk fest or simply going about your daily activities! The small notch detail is a nod to our iconic 2.5 Ankle Boot but with a smaller impact on the topline. This boot also has a shorter shaft height that makes it easy to pair with dresses and any cut of pants. 

Kalie’s Styling note: At our photoshoot, we paired this boot with a few looks to showcase its versatility. The oiled mushroom leather paired wonderfully with off white trousers and a chunky sweater, while the black leather looked amazing with a bright sundress and oversized denim jacket. 

I’m looking forward to launching these new styles, along with the entire Rediscovery Collection on July 15, 2021.
