Kalie Johnston is Director of Product Design at Poppy Barley, where she is part of designing and developing every item in the brand’s footwear and accessories collection. With over 12 years in the fashion industry, she has worked across design, buying, styling, and costume design for organizations including Joe Fresh, Alberta Ballet, Calgary Philharmonic, Gravitypope, and her independent label, Stille Nord.
When Kalie isn't designing footwear and accessories, you can either find her walking her 20-30k steps a day on the streets of Edmonton or in her kitchen steadfastly baking and developing a new recipe.

At Poppy Barley, we promised that with colder temperatures comes warm and saturated shades. We don multiple layers, cozy knits, and soft leather boots. When we selected the leather colours for our Fall ’13 collection of custom shoes, we imagined all of the above, sipping hot coffee at a café, taking long walks through the river valley, and admiring the rich glow from aging leaves.
