A collection made entirely from Laguaro–a sustainable plant-based cactus leather that stands up to the real thing.
Leather made from cactus?
Meet Laguaro. Sourced in Mexico, Laguaro is ethically made by harvesting cactus leaves–leaving the remainder of the plant intact. This process is done with minimal environmental impact as cacti are Mexico’s most abundant plant and require no water to grow.
The majority of vegan leathers are created using harmful plastics like PVC or PU, while Laguaro is derived from plants. PVC releases toxins, contains phthalates and is classified as a carcinogen. PU is not biodegradable or breathable.
We can trace every step of production in the PB PLNT collection starting from the cactus farm in Mexico, to the mills and family-owned factories. Each bag is lined with a cotton canvas, which is grown, milled and woven in Puebla, Mexico.
We’re reducing our carbon footprint by using materials that are located within a few hours of factories in Mexico from Puebla, to Guadalajara and Leon.
The PB PLNT collection is made in solar-powered, family-owned factories. We screen each factory for ethical working conditions to ensure living wages are being paid.
This is just the beginning of our commitment to plant-based materials.
