The Read | Lifestyle Mother's Day Poll: How has your relationship with yourself changed since becoming a mother? April 23, 2014 1-minute read In celebration of Poppy Barley's annual Mother's Day Event (this year, we're offering Poppy Barley Flats Bundles: buy one pair of flats and save $50 on your second - for mom, perhaps? - using code: mothersday14), we selected three moms and their kids (and grandkids) and brought them into Stephanie Pasutto's kids-only studio for an adorable photo shoot and an honest conversation about motherhood. First up: Lindsey (33) + Weston (5.5 months). Lindsay is a city planner by trade and works in Strategic Planning. We wanted to know, since having her first child unbelievably cute baby, how her relationship with herself has changed over the last six months. Scroll down to see her answer, and then answer for yourself in the comments section. We'll be doing a round-up of a few of our favourite answers just before Mother's Day. How has your relationship with yourself changed since becoming a mother? "I think that initially I felt like I had lost part of myself, and that was a hard adjustment. When you become a mother you instantly become everything to this little being – their sun, their moon, their source of infinite comfort. I am learning to embrace motherhood as a huge part of my identity. I spend a lot of time thinking about what kind of mother I want to be and how I can be my best self for Weston. My version of mom is definitely a work in progress!" - Lindsey, 33 Your turn...
