How to Care for Your Wooden Clogs

2-minute read

The wooden soles of all of our clogs are hand-carved in Guadalajara from solid Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified plantation forest pine wood. Natural materials mean your clogs require a little extra TLC, so we’re here to provide you with some tips and recommendations to keep your clogs in tip-top shape. Be prepared to love them for years to come!

Caring for Wooden Clogs

We've finished our wood soles with a natural oil to help protect against dirt and moisture, so your clogs should be set for a while. After some time and wear, you can apply linseed oil or any wood oil to keep the wood looking amazing. Just make sure to follow the instructions that come with the oil you select. Refinishing the wooden sole will most likely change the colour, but will enhance the natural wood grain. Test the oil on the bottom of the shoe first to see what it looks like.

How to Clean Wooden Clogs

Wipe dirt and debris off with a dry or slightly damp cloth. If you notice any larger scrapes or dents, no worries! You can easily fix them by sanding the soles with fine grit sandpaper and refinishing them with linseed oil, or wood oil of choice. It's like giving your shoes a mini spa day - who doesn't love some pampering?

How to Prevent Damage to Your Wooden Clogs

To prevent any mishaps, be sure to treat your clogs with care. They're made of natural materials, so they're not indestructible. Avoid hitting them against hard surfaces, or you might end up with some battle scars.

Wood is not friends with water. Avoid wearing your clogs around snow melt or on rainy days, and save these shoes for dry conditions. If your clogs do absorb any moisture, allow them to dry slowly at room temperature to avoid splits or cracks in the wood.

Enjoy Your Clogs for Years to Come

So there you have it - everything you need to know to keep your wooden clogs looking and feeling their best. It might take a little extra effort, but trust us, it's worth it. After all, what's better than strutting around in a pair of sustainable, stylish shoes that are uniquely yours?

Belt Measuring Guide

Belt Measuring Guide

A - High-rise style:

If you plan to wear your belt around your natural waistline, wrap a measuring tape around the narrowest part of your midsection. Then, add 3” to determine your high-rise belt size.

B - Mid-rise style:

If you plan to wear your belt lower than your natural waistline, you will require a dierent size. If you have a particular pair of bottoms you intend to wear your belt with, wrap a measuring tape through the belt loops while in a relaxed position.

When wearing your belt in your preferred style, it should fasten in the middle hole. The belt will relax with wear allowing you to cinch it tighter, as needed.

If you plan to wear the belt in both the high and mid-rise styles, you have two options:

  1. Select your high-rise style and fasten it more loosely when worn in the mid-rise style.
  2. Select your mid-rise style and fasten it more tightly when worn in the high-rise style.
