Meet the Team: Monica, Brand Design Manager

It's time to meet Monica, Poppy Barley's Brand Design Manager, and one of the first to join the Poppy Barley team. We connected with Monica while she was living in Vancouver, at which time Poppy Barley was just an idea. After our first Skype-chat, she took us through an in-depth company identity brief that would eventually define the Poppy Barley brand. From that point on, we knew we wanted her insight and artistic eye working for us on a daily basis.

With an Honours BA in English from the University of Alberta, and a Communication & Ideation Certificate from the Continuing Education Program at Langara College, Monica has a love for all things typography, illustration, and design. From the visuals you see on our website, to our logo, Leather Swatch Kits and packaging--all are Monica's brainchild. Learn more about Monica in our rapid-fire Q&A after the jump...

My typical day at the office... starts with a visit to Roast for coffee! After I walk into the office and see the lovely smiling faces of the PB staff, I sift through emails and get organized with my Evernote to-do list. Then I juggle between Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and our website to work toward creating the best customer experience possible with the team.

Fun fact: I lived in Vancouver for three years.

If I could live anywhere in the world, it would be: Amsterdam for its beautiful canals, cobblestone streets, lovely shops, outdoor cafes, and bike culture.

When it's time to unwind: I do yoga and/or have a glass of red... in either order.
