I decided it was a day to "treat yo' self" and bought a pair of the Heeled Chelsea Boots in Snakeskin. I coated them in Nikwax before wearing outside, and they have been holding up in this winter full of freeze-thaw cycles. The heel is very comfortable, not too high or too low, and they fit quite similarly to my heeled mules (which, by the way, are the most comfortable shoes I own). I waffle between a 8.5 wide and a 9 regular, and i got these boots in a 9 regular.
The construction and pattern are both great, and I like that the base of the snakeskin has some warmth to it. I really feel these shoes will serve me in all 4 seasons, since they look great with jeans, skirts, dresses, and ponte pants, and a varity of colors and patterns like stripes, buffalo plaid, burgundy, orange, anything really. These shoes feel like a "statement neutral", to use an oxymoron, and I get loads of compliments on them.
