The Read | Sustainability Designer Nicole Bridger Discusses the "Grey" of Ethical Fashion October 11, 2016 1-minute read Meet Nicole Bridger. It took two years of admiring her from afar before we actually met. I admired her designs and her approach to ethical manufacturing. I peered through the glass walls of her Gastown shop in awe. The success of Nicole Bridger stood for a shift in people’s relationship with clothing. A shift I desperately want to happen. In Vancouver (and beyond), Nicole Bridger created a movement of people who believe in eco-fashion because Nicole designed the clothes so beautifully, while using her voice and decisions (in fabrics, in factories) to convey something powerful. The mantra of Nicole Bridger, I AM LOVE, is about doing what's right for the earth, people and spirit. In the spring, Nicole and I finally met when her team invited Poppy Barley into her shop in Gastown to host a pop-up shop. In July, Nicole travelled to the Poppy Barley showroom in Edmonton. Eager to ask her all sorts of questions, I invited the public (20 spots only!) to come hear what she had to say. The concept was simple: ask her all the questions I secretly wanted to ask her for the past two years, invite everyone else in. Her answers were frank, honest and inspiring. We captured some of it on video to share with you. To Nicole – you’re my Western-Canada-ethical-fashion-entrepreneur kindred spirit.
