Dissecting Our Fall 2017 Collection

The inspiration for our Fall 2017 Collection is Paris in the Fall—a city of chic women, on their feet all day, demanding luxury basics that elevate daily life. For a colour palette, we went rich and dark with Burgundy, Olive, and Carbon leathers, all in a very soft and shiny napa leather finish. Burgundy ruled the Fall 2017 runways, and being a deep, regal colour, it is always a wonderful Fall addition. Finally, a metallic Silver Snake print made using leather and foil brought some texture and pattern to colourways. We launched two new styles this season. Tassels and a fringe accent on the vamp provided an update to our best-selling D’Orsay Flat. This style is a great transitional shoe that fuses the coziness of Fall and the last days of summer with its cut-out sides. The new Viva Pump, a 3.5” pump with a leather wrapped heel and a V-Cut front, filled a gap we've had in heels (when the Poppy Barley team really needed to dress up for a formal event, our options were limited). What I love about this heel is that the cut and heel height are very sexy, but the memory foam insoles make it as comfortable as a high heel can be.
The rest of the collection spread our Fall 2017 leathers across some best-selling and most-loved Poppy Barley styles (because why mess with a good thing, right?): Our Soft Oxfords (we can barely keep them in stock!), Betsey T-Strap Flats, Slides, and Slip-on Oxfords. For ankle boots, we invested particularly in Chelsea Boots, with Black/Silver Snake, Burgundy, and Carbon variants. Finally, the Two Point Five Ankle Boot can now be purchased in a stunning Olive green (you'll want Olive it)! We kept our Fall accessories simple, allowing the beautiful leathers to shine through, offering the Hobo Tote in Burgandy, Olive, and Carbon (sold out already!), the Perfect Handbag in Burgandy and the Essentials Purse in Burgandy, Olive (the office favourite), and a fun Black and Silver Snake combo. Fall is a time when many people come back to our Core Collection—which includes many of our ankle boot styles in black and some browns, our calf-fitted tall boots, and our accessories in black pebble leathers. This season’s best seller to date is the Heeled Mule which, for lazy fashion girls, is a slip-on shoe that's always been a favourite (we launched it Spring 2016), but seems to be having a moment as fashion continues its love affair with the '70s. And finally, I must mention that almost all of our shoes offer extended sizing, from 5 Narrow to 12 Wide.
