Sourced in Mexico, Desserto® is ethically made by harvesting cactus leaves–leaving the remainder of the plant intact. Our cactus collection is planet-friendly with a small carbon footprint and 80% biodegradability.
We trace every step of production. The cactus farm, the canvas mills, and factories are all located within Mexico–a short drive from each other.
The nopal cactus is harvested from the state of Zacatecas. Each bag is lined with a cotton canvas, which is grown, milled, and woven in Puebla. Our bags are made in solar-powered, family-owned factories in Leon. All our factories are screened for ethical working conditions including fair wages.

CanadaThis is a great little bag. It fits the essentials - phone, coins/bills, 3-4 cards, lip gloss. When you put it on a table, it doesn't fall over on its side - it stands up. It's not something I knew I'd like, but thus far it is convenient for finding things and reorganizing. I have been wanting to try PB Plant for a long time and it's been just like my leather pieces though I've only had it 1 month and long term durability will be the real test. The one downside for me was minor. I wanted to use this as my everyday wallet and bag (minimalism and all that) and it doesn't fit enough cards in the pockets. But it's been ok though - I use all the card slots inside for the cards I use daily and the others are in a card holder.
