In my experience Poppy Barley has excellent customer service - they promptly sent me a replacement pair of boots when I simply asked about repair options for my original low rise Chelsea Boots. The replacement pair of boots I was sent were these Chelsea 2.0 boots. I found the 2.0 boot fit a bit loose in the ankle area, and I preferred the smooth leather of the originals over the pebbled texture of the 2.0’s- but I could live with this and still liked the look of the boot. Unfortunately, despite caring for the boots as recommended by PB, I found they just didn’t hold up well to normal wear and tear. In a matter of a couple months they just didn’t look great. I wanted to use these as an every day basic boot, and while I certainly did my best not to wear them in poor weather conditions, I did have higher expectations for them to be able to hold up under occasional wet conditions (with Edmonton weather, there is the risk for some unexpected rain or snow in the fall, and it felt like these boots were perhaps intended for indoor use only given how delicate they were). A very cute pair of boots but I think they’d be best worn indoors or under perfect, dry weather conditions only.
These boots look stylish and fit great. They have enough of a heel to feel comfortable while being wearable all day. I was worried they may be difficult to get on without a zipper, but the elastic has enough give.
Comfortable from the moment I put them on. Love the colour, I can wear them with everything. I’ve had several complaints.
I love the Poppy Barley line I find them very comfortable only shoe I will buy.
I have to say overall I am disappointed with this product, I had come to expect more from PB. I had a pair of the original Chelsea boots and I loved them! Sadly a tear developed at the at the sole and they could not be repaired. To their credit I will say PB’s Customer Service was amazing! They promptly responded and provided me with a new pair which was beyond what I expected! The new version was easy to wear and break in a nice bonus. Now the hard part, as I love most of PB’s products. I do not like the heels and soles of these boots they are plastic not like the other model that was rubberized and wooden. It gives them a cheaper feeling sad considering the price point of the boots. I have slipped and lost control on many hard surfaces while going about my day as there is no grip on the heel at all. I also do not like the texture of the boots compared to other model. They only have black in a pebbled finish and the leather is not “water resistant”, meaning they have to be sprayed more frequently. Just a minor inconvenience. So there you have it, I’m sorry I was really hoping to love these as much as my other ones.
